In this modern age of gaming, we like to always look back at how gaming was back then and how its magnificent strides have brought us to where we are today. SEGA was one of those pioneers of the early gaming era many of us remember and now they just got better. For us to reminiscence the good old days SEGA has announced that every retro game of theirs will come out on iOS and Android, basically games from the Master System, Genesis/Mega Drive and Dreamcast. With mobile apps being the take over of our everyday lives it seems clever and strategically advantageous for SEGA to be doing this.
Sega Forever: the app that will be the forefront of this, plans to release a new game every 2 weeks. Currently these titles are already avaiable: Altered Beast, Comix Zone, Kid Chameleon, Phantasy Star II, and Sonic The Hedgehog.
They will be playable offline and support bluetooth controller support. There is however one downside and that is playing the game on a touchscreen may become problematic.
Another downside is that as the games are free, there will be short adverts which people can get rid of if they pay £1.99 for each game. Despite this coming from the 90s I do not think that will deter people to not get their beloved childhood games. I can't wait to see my favourite SEGA game out on mobile. What's yours?
