There’s been a lot of talk about what will and won’t be depicted in the upcoming Call of Duty World War 2, and furthermore which factions and armies players would be able to use.

It’s now been confirmed that you will not be able to play as Nazis. Previously, Sledgehammer have essentially dodged the question, it’s possible that they weren’t sure which direction to take yet and it was up in the air, or they just weren’t ready to reveal that aspect of the game yet.

So the final answer we have now is no we will not be able to control the Nazi faction.

Obviously, the Axis powers will play a big part in the story of CoD WW2 as they did in the real war, but Sledgehammer Games have opted to not allow scenarios to play out for example Deathmatches and campaigns.

The next Call of Duty is set to drop on November 3 and will be available for the usual suspects: Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

This announcement definitely won’t have anybody rushing to cancel their pre-orders, and the most interesting aspect is simply to speculate why this wasn’t announced sooner.

What are your thoughts? Do you care much that you cannot be a Nazi faction and see things from their side of the war? Or do you think it is the right decision as noone should ever re-create the Nazi regime and even want to see the horrible things they did and wanted to do.

Others are happy to be playing through as the good guys exclusively, and cringe at the idea of having to control a Nazi soldier.
